New Life for Speke: The South Parade Development is Here

South Liverpool Homes’ South Parade development is moving forward in Speke, bringing 92 new homes across a mix of tenures including affordable rent, social rent, Rent to Buy and shared ownership.

What Is Being Built?

The scheme covers the area between South Parade, Conleach Road, Ganworth Road and Dam Wood Road. It includes houses, bungalows and apartments with a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes.

Twenty homes are being offered through Shared Ownership, with sales handled by Redwing. Seventeen homes are allocated to Rent to Buy, while other properties will be available through affordable and social rent routes.

Energy Performance and Funding

South Liverpool Homes says the new properties are being built to EPC A standard and will include solar photovoltaic panels, efficient electric heating and electric vehicle charging points.

The wider project has received £6.59 million from Homes England’s Affordable Homes Programme and £1.524 million from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Brownfield Land Fund.

What Applicants Should Know

Shared Ownership applications are open through Redwing. South Liverpool Homes says Rent to Buy applications are currently paused because of high demand, while affordable and social-rent homes are allocated through its normal policy.

The original version of this article described the development largely as a lifestyle and first-time-buyer story. The more important point is that South Parade is a mixed-tenure regeneration scheme intended to expand housing options in Speke rather than a conventional private housing launch.
